ReSwap

ReSwap SMS Terms

SMS supplement effective October 17, 2026. These SMS-specific terms supplement the existing Terms of Service below and govern SMS if another general communications provision differs.

Program and consent

The ReSwap account messaging program sends verification codes that you request and, only if you separately opt in, optional account and group or TripShare invitation notices. This program does not send marketing messages or unsolicited direct messages.

Choosing Send verification code in ReSwap requests a verification text to the number you enter; choosing Resend requests another code. A verification request does not enroll you in optional notices. Optional SMS notices use a separate choice that is off by default. You must affirmatively enable that choice to receive them. An invitation sent by another member, a stored phone number, or accepting the general Terms of Service is not SMS consent.

SMS consent is not a condition of purchase or general app access. You can use ReSwap without subscribing to optional SMS notices. Certain phone-based features require verification that you own the number.

Frequency and costs

Message frequency varies with your requests and account activity. Message and data rates may apply. ReSwap does not charge a separate SMS subscription fee; your wireless provider's charges may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Opt out and support

Reply STOP to a ReSwap text to opt out of the SMS program. You will receive an opt-out confirmation and no further program messages unless you opt back in. You may also turn off optional SMS notices in ReSwap. Reply START to resume SMS delivery after an SMS opt-out; optional notices still require your separate in-app SMS preference to be enabled.

Reply HELP for help or email support@reswap.org. If a requested code cannot be delivered, contact support rather than sharing a code or using a phone number you do not own.

Your information

No mobile information will be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for promotional or marketing purposes. SMS opt-in data and consent are not shared with third parties for marketing or unrelated purposes. See the ReSwap Privacy Policy for the limited processing needed to deliver messages and protect the service.

The general Terms of Service follow in full. Their general electronic-communications provisions do not override these SMS consent and opt-out choices.

2. ELIGIBILITY

You must be at least 19 years old to use the Services. We do not permit users under 19 to create an account or access the Services. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

We may use technical measures and institutional verification (including verification of a university email account) to enforce eligibility. We may suspend or terminate accounts that do not meet the requirement or that provide false information about age or eligibility.

3. ACCOUNT REGISTRATION AND SECURITY

3.1. To use our Services, you must register for an account by creating a username and password (your "Account"). You agree to provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information to ensure proper operation of the Services.

3.2. If your details change, you must update your information by logging into your Account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and must notify ReSwap immediately of any unauthorized access to your Account.

3.3. You must not share your password or other security credentials with anyone else.

3.4. ReSwap verifies the existence of a university, student, or organization email account during registration. ReSwap reserves the right to determine and modify ranking algorithms at its sole discretion. The ranking system may include undisclosed factors, and ReSwap is not obligated to disclose the details of how rankings are calculated. We also reserve the right to change ranking criteria at any time without prior notice.

ReSwap reserves the right to approve, disapprove, or remove any listing at its sole discretion, without obligation to provide justification. We do not guarantee the accuracy or authenticity of listings and are not responsible for any misleading or false information provided by users.

When a user is blocked: (i) the blocked user can no longer contact the blocking user through the Services; (ii) content and conversations from the blocked user are removed from the blocking user’s view immediately; and (iii) the block event may generate a moderation ticket and notify ReSwap for review, especially where related reports or policy violations are indicated.

Users acknowledge that engaging with digital services carries inherent cybersecurity risks.
